Speedboat Tragedy in Vietnam
A devastating incident occurred in southern Vietnam when a speedboat carrying Indian tourists capsized, resulting in the tragic deaths of 15 individuals, local authorities report. The vessel was transporting 32 Indian tourists and four crew members when it overturned approximately 400 meters from Hon May Rut Ngoai island on Saturday.
The speedboat capsized amid rough sea conditions, which are believed to have contributed to the accident. Nearby tourist vessels quickly responded to the distress, rescuing several passengers trapped inside the overturned boat, according to Vietnam's VnExpress.

Out of those on board, 21 people were successfully rescued, but unfortunately, the fatalities were reported to include Indian citizens. Hon May Rut Ngoai, part of the An Thoi Archipelago in the Gulf of Thailand, is a popular destination for island-hopping tours.
Located about 10 kilometers south of Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island, the area is frequented by tourists. Nguyen Tien Hai, a senior official, stated that efforts were focused on rescue and emergency care for survivors. He noted that heavy winds and high waves might have led to the capsizing.
