Deputy Police Chief Francisco Barredo characterized the situation as "very chaotic," noting that approximately 13,000 people were present at the festival when the shooting occurred. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his horror at the event, extending his condolences to the families of the victims and those affected. Ontario Premier Doug Ford condemned the "senseless violence" at the festival, acknowledging that the incident claimed two lives and injured several others.
